New City Clerk Susana Mendoza is asking sponsors who'd like to get their company name on Chicago city stickers to make an offer.
The city would get some much-needed money. The winning bidder could get a spot on nearly 1.3 million stickers issued every year as well as on renewal notices, envelopes, a web site and brochures.
The sticker sponsorship push is meant to fulfill a campaign promise Mendoza made.
“This is an opportunity to potentially bring in millions of dollars in new revenue to the city and hopefully at least hold the line on city sticker fees and dedicate the fund so infrastructure improvements and other pressing city needs,” Mendoza said in a statement.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
