Clean campaign

In the final days before election day, the campaigns will try anything to persuade voters. In October 1944, supporters of Republican candidate Thomas Dewey – Elvira Keating (from left), Barbara Baker, Audrey Mahn, Audrey Collard and Helen Doria – hoped he would sweep Franklin Roosevelt out of office. Roosevelt won the election.
