Tribune update on ... mistaken drug raid

Andrij and Anna Jakymec stand in their Chicago home where Cook County sheriff's officers mistakenly raided their home in search of drug dealers. When it became clear to the officers that they were at the wrong home they moved on, leaving behind the shaken couple and a damaged home. “It became a problem because you had these battered doors that were opened, this window that was shattered and my parents were in shock,” said their son, Andrew Jakymec. “They should have allowed a couple of the sheriff's deputies to stay there until the following morning.” After news about the raid got out, Sheriff Tom Dart sent one of his top officials, Michael Smith, to the home.
