Keg open during appeal, but Evanston mayor expects state will uphold license revocation

Evanston Mayor Elizabeth Tisdahl said today that she expects the state’s Liquor Control Commission to uphold her January decision to revoke The Keg of Evanston’s liquor license.

The mayor made her comments prior to a city liquor board meeting, where she serves as liquor commissioner.

Tisdahl revoked the bar’s license due to what she called public safety concerns spawned from repeated underage drinking violations at the bar, 810 Grove St., which is a popular destination for Northwestern University students.
