Authorities have identified a 47-year-old man fatally struck by a car this morning in southwest suburban Summit.
Salatiel Mendoza, of the 7200 block of West 61st Place in Summit, died on the scene early this morning, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
About 5:30 a.m., he was unloading materials from a parked truck when a car hit him in the 7200 block of West 61st Place, according to the medical examiner's office. He was pronounced dead on the scene at 5:55 a.m., according to the medical examiner's office.
Police and the fire department could not immediately be reached for comment.
