Catcher Ray Schalk

Ray Schalk, in his final year with the White Sox as the team's manager in 1928, was one of the game's best catchers during the early 20th century. Historians credit Schalk with being the first catcher to back up plays at first and third. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1955.
