Relief pitcher Goose Gossage

Rich "Goose" Gossage began his career as one of the game's most dominant closers with the <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="ORSPT000167" title="Chicago White Sox" href="/topic/sports/baseball/chicago-white-sox-ORSPT000167.topic">White Sox</a> in 1972. Two of his nine all-star appearances were in a White Sox uniform and his best South Side season was in 1975 when he recorded 49 saves. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2008.
