Manager Kid Gleason

Gleason led the Sox to the 1919 <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="15007001" title="American League" href="/topic/sports/baseball/american-league-15007001.topic">American League</a> pennant but had no knowledge of the conspiracy to throw the World Series involving eight of his players. He managed the Sox until 1923 and later was on the coaching staff of <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PEPLT004064" title="Connie Mack, Jr." href="/topic/politics/connie-mack-jr.-PEPLT004064.topic">Connie Mack</a>'s Philadelphia Athletics.
