Manager Jimmy Dykes

Jimmy Dykes joined the <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="ORSPT000167" title="Chicago White Sox" href="/topic/sports/baseball/chicago-white-sox-ORSPT000167.topic">White Sox</a> in 1933 after a successful tenure with the <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PLGEO100101023010000" title="Philadelphia (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania)" href="/topic/us/pennsylvania/philadelphia-county/philadelphia-%28philadelphia-pennsylvania%29-PLGEO100101023010000.topic">Philadelphia</a> Athletics. Dyke was named an all-star in 1933 and 1934 and served as player-manager from 1934 to 1939. He continued to manage the Sox until 1946.
