The Reagans wave to well-wishers from the presidential limousine during a 1984 parade celebrating the president's birthday in his hometown of Dixon, Illinois. "I had mounted a camera with a suction cup on the window inside the limousine, and had a chord running to the front passenger seat where a secret service agent triggered the camera," said Pete Souza. "I told him to trip the shutter every time he heard the president yelling his thanks to the crowd through his microphone."
