A 27-year-old man was pronounced dead Tuesday evening after he appeared to have trouble breathing in the detention area of the Harvey Police Department.
Jeremy Hill of the 14000 block of Leavitt Street in Harvey was pronounced dead at 6:20 p.m. at Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
Hill was arrested about 6 p.m. Tuesday and placed into custody at the police department when he appeared to have trouble breathing, according to Sandra Alvarado, spokeswoman for the Harvey Police Department.
An ambulance was called, and when paramedics arrived they treated Hill at the scene and took him to Ingalls, she said.
He was pronounced dead a short time later.
An autposy was preformed this afternoon, but the medical examiner's office said Hill's cause of death was pending further study.
