Three people were shot Thursday night in the Englewood and Gage Park neighborhoods, police said.

A 16-year-old boy was shot in the armpit area about 9:30 p.m. in the 3400 block of West 54th Street, Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines said. He’s in critical condition at Mount Sinai Hospital.

Police said someone stepped out of a car and opened fire, hitting the boy once. Additional information wasn't immediately available from police.

About 90 minutes before that, a 32-year-old woman was shot in the hand and a 32-year-old man was shot in the ankle in the 6400 block of South Eggleston Avenue in Englewood. Both are in good condition at St. Bernard Hospital and Health Care Center.
