Two people, including a 16-year-old boy, were shot in separate incidents in Chicago on Wednesday.

The teen was shot just before 6:30 p.m. in the 1700 block of West 17th Street, about a block from his home in the city's Pilsen neighborhood, according to police.

That shooting was gang related, police said.

He was transported to Stroger Hospital in stable condition, Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines said.

Just before 9 p.m., a man was shot in the leg in the 2400 block of North Lowell Avenue in the Belmont Gardens neighborhood.

His age wasn't immediately available. He was transported to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, Gaines said.
