A Cook County Sheriff’s deputy is being interviewed following a fatal wreck in Franklin Park early Sunday that claimed the life of a 41-year-old man, authorities said.
No charges have been filed as of Monday afternoon, but the male deputy who was driving the vehicle that struck the victim is being questioned by Franklin Park authorities, according to Frank Bilecki, a spokesman for Sheriff Tom Dart.
Marcial Maris-Quevedo was pronounced dead about 3:30 a.m. Sunday on the scene on Mannheim Road near Minneapolis Avenue after being hit by a pickup truck, according to a spokeswoman for the Cook County medical examiner's office.
An autopsy is scheduled Tuesday for Maris-Quevedo, whose last known address was in the 3000 block of Bright Street in Franklin Park, she said.
Franklin Park police declined to release any information following multiple requests for comment.
