Rod Schrader, chief executive officer, vice chairman, Komatsu America Corp.
Rod Schrader has been named chief executive and vice chairman of Komatsu America Corp., a Rolling Meadows-based manufacturer and supplier of construction, mining and compact construction equipment. Effective April 1, Schrader will replace 25-year company veteran Dave Grzelak, who is stepping down but will remain chairman through June 2013. Schrader started with the company in 1987 and most recently served as Komatsu's executive vice president and general manager of the mining division, but has also held management positions in large equipment sales and marketing, and served as president of Komatsu Utility Corp. Schraeder has a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Rose Hulman Institute of Technology and an MBA from Northwestern University's Keller Graduate School of Management. He was appointed as a Komatsu America Corp. board member in July 2010, and also serves as a board member for Junior Achievement of Central Illinois.
