Quick thinking alters a special delivery

Northwestern associate men’s basketball coach Tavaras Hardy and wife Billée planned to deliver their second daughter at NU’s Prentice Hospital. But the baby had a different idea.

The couple did not have time to head downtown early Monday morning, so they checked in at the University of Chicago Medical Center. Within 11 minutes, daughter Jasmine Lilyann joined the world.

Hardy, who starred at Northwestern, joked of the brainy U of C: “Maybe she'll be the analytical one in the family.”
