Sunny Fischer

Sunny Fishcher is a philanthropist and head of Driehaus Foundation. Her family moved into the <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PLGEO100100801011300" title="Eastchester" href="/topic/us/new-york/new-york-city/bronx-%28new-york-city%29/eastchester-PLGEO100100801011300.topic">Eastchester</a> projects in the Bronx in 1949. "I certainly understand what it is to grow up without privilege. I had other privileges, but not money, and that certainly stayed with me," said Fischer, 65, who moved to the Chicago area 38 years ago. "My commitment has been to make a more just and equitable society. Everyone deserves a chance to make something of their lives."
