Prosecutors: South suburban man assaulted two young relatives

A Chicago Heights man accused of sexually assaulting a 6-year-old relative and a 7-year-old relative was held without bail today.

Francisco Castillo, 58, of the first block of East Main Street, sexually assaulted a 6-year-old relative numerous time between May 2012 and July in his Chicago Heights home, prosecutors said. He is charged with two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault, a Class X felony.

The child told another relative about the assaults after another girl, now 14, told other relatives that she too was assaulted several times by Castillo when she was 7 years old in 2006 while living in Park Forest, said Cook County Assistant State's Attorney Julie Ramirez.

Castillo admitted to the assaults on Aug. 8, Ramirez told Cook County Criminal Court Judge Laura Sullivan.

Castillo's next court date is Aug. 13.
