A 61-year-old man who allegedly told police he has been ordering marijuana by mail from California for the past year has been charged after police intercepted a package containing more than a pound of the substance, authorities said today.
Bail for Fred Vukadinovic, of the 0-100 block of North Marcella Road in Mount Prospect, was set at $50,000 in the Rolling Meadows branch of Cook County Court today. He was charged with possession of cannabis with intent to deliver.
Acting on a tip, postal authorities opened a package intended for Vukadinovic and found 475 grams of marijuana inside, Assistant State’s Atty. Katherine Levine said.
Police rigged the package with an alarm that would send a signal when opened, Levine said. A postal inspector disguised as a courier delivered the package and officers arrested Vukadinovic when he opened it, Levine said.
Vukadinovic told police he had been ordering pounds of marijuana from a source in San Francisco and selling it, Levine said.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
