Update: missing South Side mom, 8-month-old child found safe

Update: the mother and her son have both been found and returned to their home.

Chicago police have asked for help from the community in locating a missing South Side mother and her 8-month-old son.

According to a release from the Chicago Police Department, Profile Lyons, 16, and her son Jeramiah Lyons have been missing since Oct. 30.

Lyons is described as being 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing 150 pounds, and having brown eyes, blond hair, and a medium black complexion. She was last seen wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and gray boots.

In the release, police said that she could be in the following areas: 7800 block of South Halsted Street in the Gresham neighborhood; 6900 block of South State Street in Park Manor; 10600 block of South Bensley Avenue in South Deering; 100 block of West 108th Place in Roseland; and the 7100 block of South Winchester Avenue in West Englewood.
