Participants revel in the annual Malay Choir and Carnival in Cape Town, South Africa. This event, deeply rooted in Cape Malay culture, gathers more than 60 bands of musicians, dancers and troupe members in brightly colored outfits, painted faces, brass bands, and Ghoema music (comic songs often accompanied by brass, or banjo).
