Patrick J. Murphy has been promoted to full professor in DePaul University's Driehaus College of Business. Murphy, who received tenure in 2010, achieved the university's highest academic rank in less than 10 years and is the youngest full professor in the college. He and his students have acted as consultants to more than 100 Chicago entrepreneurial ventures. His research on entrepreneurship has an international reputation in the areas of social enterprise and international business contexts involving the U.S. and China. He has lectured on these topics in multiple countries and he has won several awards for teaching excellence. Murphy speaks Mandarin Chinese is leading DePaul's international expansion into China, where he has overseen the development of a strategic university relationship with Huaqiao University in Fujian Province. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Chicago and joined DePaul as an assistant professor in 2004.
