CD reports that, "Multiple studies have demonstrated that persons entering correctional facilities have high rates of STDs (including HIV) and viral hepatitis." STD testing is more common in juvenile facilities instead of adult facilities, but for teens who are admitted into short-term facilities, they may not have access to comprehensive STD services. Incarcerated persons are more likely to have low socioeconomic status and may  not have access to regular health care.
