Five people were taken to a hospital this morning after they were overcome by diesel fumes at O'Hare International Airport, officials said.
All five were transported in good condition to Resurrection Medical Center, according to Fire Department spokesman Juan Hernandez. They apparently worked at the airport, he said.
Firefighters were called to the airport around 7:25 a.m. to investigate a smell of diesel fuel. The fumes apparently were caused by an incident that occurred on Wednesday, but Hernandez did not have details.
Blue Line trains were halted between Rosemont and O'Hare for about 20 minutes while firefighters investigated, officials said. Shuttles buses ran between the stations during the suspension of service, according to CTA spokeswoman Catherine Hosinski.
Train service resumed with some delays about 7:45 a.m., according to the transit agency.Copyright © 2014, The Baltimore Sun
