President-elect Barack Obama, names Tom Daschle as his health and human services secretary and director of the White House office of Health Reform and  Dr. Jeanne Lambrew as deputy director at a press conference in Chicago. He also comments on the <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PLGEO100100500000000" title="Illinois" href="/topic/us/illinois-PLGEO100100500000000.topic">Illinois</a> governor scandal saying he was as "appalled and disappointed as anybody" by the transcripts of wire-tapped conversations of Gov. Rod Blagojevich, who was arrested Tuesday on corruption charges.
