Police today said the death of a couple this week in a Mount Prospect apartment is being investigated as an apparent double suicide.
Officials responded about 5:15 a.m. Thursday to the residence in the 1700 block of Forest Cove Drive in the northwest suburb and found a 67-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman dead in their apartment, Mount Prospect police said in a news release.
The Cook County medical examiner's office has determined the man's death to be a suicide, and the woman's death to be undetermined pending results of toxicology tests. Police are investigating the woman's death as an apparent suicide, according to the statement.
The medical examiner's office said Adolf Staron was a suicide by hanging, while the death of Cecylia Staron was undetermined pending further tests.
The police statement did not identify the victims by name but said the investigation was continuing in conjunction with the medical examiner's office.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
