Cold case unsolved: Valerie Percy

Valerie Percy, the 21-year-old daughter of then-Senate candidate <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PEPLT006919" title="Charles H. Percy" href="/topic/politics/charles-h.-percy-PEPLT006919.topic">Charles Percy</a>, was stabbed to death in her bed on Sept. 18, 1966, at her family's estate on Lake Michigan in Kenilworth. Police interviewed about 10,000 people and investigated 1,226 suspects in the first two years, according to a Tribune story on the case. The crime made national news but was never solved.<br>
