Aldermen Edward Burke and Richard Mell, talk before the start of the City Council's pedestrian and traffic committee meeting on Mayor Rahm Emanuel's plan to use speed cameras to issue tickets. The plan cleared a City Council committee. The 7-3 vote, that came after criticism from aldermen, led the mayor to offer up a revised ordinance governing the use of speed cameras in Chicago.
