Four teens -- three 15-year-olds and a 16-year-old -- were among seven people shot across the South Side overnight, according to police.

A 15-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy were shot as they left a basketball game around 11:30 p.m. just east of Martin Luther King Drive in the Park Manor neighborhood, police and relatives said. A 49-year-old man was also shot.

The 16-year-old was in critical condition with a chest wound at Stroger Hospital and the 15-year-old was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital in good condition, suffering from a leg wound, police said. The man walked into the University of Chicago Hospital with a gunshot wound to the groin and also in good condition, police said.

The three were shot by at least one gunman who fired from a nearby alley. Police collected shell casings from an alley east of King Drive on the south side of 71st Street into Thursday morning.

The boy and girl had been together at the game, according to Tequila Robinson, who said she is the partner of the boy's mother.  "I guess he was leaving with her, trying to make it home, and I guess she must have went one way and he ran into the crossfire," she said.

She said a bullet hit of the boy's kidney, and doctors removed it. “He’s in recovery right now, so we're waiting until he gets out of recovery so we could speak to him and visit him. He’ll be here a week and a half. . .He should be OK.

"Hopefully whoever it is gets caught and understands this is serious," Robinson added. "It’s not a game, it’s not a joke, it’s my son. It's happening (to) an innocent young man trying to make a living for himself as far as playing sports. Hopefully they find him."

About an hour earlier, two 15-year-old boys were shot in the 3800 block of South Vincennes Avenue in the Ida B. Wells/Darrow Homes neighborhood. One was taken to Comer Chidlren’s Hospital with a wound to the leg and the other taken to Mercy Hospital and Medical Center with a graze wound to the shoulder, police said.

Around 9:25 p.m., a 27-year-old man was shot in the 8500 block of South Oglesby Avenue in the South Chicago neighborhood. He was in critical condition at Northwestern Memorial Hospital with wounds to the neck and chest, police said.

A 52-year-old man was wounded around 1:20 a.m. Thursday in the West Pullman neighborhood. The man was shot in the 11500 block of South State Street and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in stable condition with a wound to the leg.
