Elburn man killed in Kane County crash

An Elburn man died following a two-vehicle crash Monday morning in Kane County, according to sheriff’s police.

Police identified the dead man as 68-year-old Burton Brown of the 48W000 block of Country Life Drive.

Brown was heading east on Keslinger Road, east of Elburn, at about 7:30 a.m. when his 2002 Toyota Camry crossed the center line and struck a westbound van, police said.

Brown was transported to Delnor Hospital in Geneva, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The driver of the van, a 35-year-old man from Elgin, was treated and released at the scene.

Brown and the driver of the van were the sole occupants of their vehicles, and both men were wearing their seat belts, police said.

A portion of Keslinger Road was closed for about three hours as police investigated.
