For the past five years, hairstylist Anthony Cristiano has jet-setted for clients such as Demi Moore, the Kardashians and Mariah Carey. In between, he styled supermodels (Adriana Lima for KIA's Super Bowl commercial), Olympians (for Glamour magazine) and assorted other 10s (Bo Derek for a recent Vanity Fair).
Now Cristiano has landed back home — in the Trump International Hotel & Tower.
With floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking one of the most striking stretches of the Chicago River, his new salon welcomes clients with velvet and houndstooth furniture and white terrazzo floors that shimmer with the sunshine and reflect the city lights at night. Phone appointments (312-268-2440) are taken in a separate room to keep the reception area serene.
Haircuts start at $85 and top out at his fee, $350. Colorist to the stars Tracey Cunningham (Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez and Reese Witherspoon) will pop in for miniresidencies.
"I want to bring what I do in the fashion world into my world here," Cristiano says.
