Former Chicago Alderman Virgil Jones talks with reporters Friday afternoon in the Dirksen Federal Building lobby on June 11, 1999, after being sentenced to 41 months in prison for extortion. Jones was accused of pocketing $7,000 in bribes from a crooked contractor-turned-goverment mole who was working for the FBI in the Operation Silver Shovel investigation.
