With the Joseph Jefferson Awards Committee taking a leaf from the Tony Awards playbook, the nominations for this year’s Jeff Awards are to be announced live and in public by a celebrity — in this case, the actress Jane Lynch.
Lynch, a longtime Chicago actress who worked at both the Steppenwolf Theatre Company and Second City before achieving movie and TV fame, will announce the 2014 Jeff nominations, which cover Chicago’s Equity theaters, on Aug. 21 from the Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place. The precise timing that morning has yet to be announced.
Lynch is now best known for her work on "Glee." This year’s Jeff Awards are slated for Oct. 13 at the Drury Lane Theatre in Oakbrook Terrace.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
