Monday is the official Christmas holiday for many public agencies and businesses. The following public services will be affected:
Government offices: Federal, state, county and city offices will be closed.
Postal Service: There will be no regular pickups. Express mail, however, will still be delivered.
Libraries: All branches of the Chicago Public Library, including the Harold Washington Library Center, will be closed.
Courts: Federal, state and county courts will be closed, except for Cook County Central Bond Court.
Schools: Chicago Public Schools will be closed until Jan. 9. Many suburban schools will be closed through New Year's Day; check with the local district.Copyright © 2014, The Baltimore Sun
