Movie director Frank Capra, Dec. 29, 1931. Capra was one of America's most powerful movie directors in the 1930s, and successful for decades afterwards. A few of his most famous films include: "You Can't Take it With You"; "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington"; and "It's a Wonderful Life."
