A Geneva woman was killed Saturday afternoon in a motorcycle accident when she struck a guardrail on U.S. Hwy. 20 in unincorporated Plato Township in Kane County, said officials.
Sharon Schultz, 54, of the 700 block of Lancaster Lane in Geneva, was eastbound on route 20 shortly after 3 p.m. on her 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle, police said in an e-mailed press release from the Kane County Sheriff's office. When she was about 150 feet west of Switzer Road, her bike veered off the road and struck a guardrail.
She was taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin where she was pronounced dead, said police.
