The move of patients from Children's Memorial Hospital in Lincoln Park to the new Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital in Streeterville will mean road closures for much of Saturday, the city announced today.

Fullerton Avenue will be closed from Lincoln Avenue to Lake Shore Drive from 4 a.m. Saturday until the last patient is taken to the new hospital at 225 E. Chicago Ave., which could take from 10 to 18 hours, according to city officials.

Exit and entrance ramps at Fullerton and Lake Shore Drive also will be closed during this time.

The new 23-story building, which makes Lurie Children’s Hospital the tallest children's hospital in the country, is located on the Northwestern campus and is physically connected to Prentice Women's Hospital.
