For 20 years, Peter J. Flowers, a partner at Foote, Meyers, Mielke & Flowers, has represented individuals and families injured by the negligent conduct of others. In that time, he has developed a reputation for his personalized approach to complex medical malpractice and device litigation.
“I become very close with the people I represent,” he says. “For many lawyers, once a case is over, it’s over. But I remain in close contact with my clients.”
Mr. Flowers has received many honors over his career. The most prestigious of these was being elected president of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association (ITLA); he led the 2,200 member organization from 2009 to 2010. A member of ITLA for 20 years, Mr. Flowers has held executive positions and sat on its Board of Managers for the past decade.
From 2007 to the present, Mr. Flowers has been named an Illinois Super Lawyer. He is also recognized as a Leading Lawyer by his peers, a distinction awarded to less than 5 percent of Illinois attorneys. Mr. Flowers is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, having either resolved through settlement or tried many cases in excess of $1 million. He is also a member of the Verdict Club, an elite society of the most prestigious litigators in the United States whose members are nominated by fellow attorneys for membership.
Mr. Flowers is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, for which he currently serves on the board of the Bar Foundation; the American Association for Justice, for which he is a co-chair of the metal-on-metal litigation group; and the Chicago, DuPage County, and Kane County bar associations.
