FLASHBACK: 1967 Graduating kindergartners at Orchard Hill Farm School, 167th Street and Kilpatrick Avenue, Tinley Park. As civil rights demonstrations were raging on city streets and Vietnam War protests were heating up on college campuses, it appears that even Orchard Hill Farm School was roiling with unrest. Of course it was really the school administration taking advantage of kindergarten graduation to take a wry look at the national zeitgeist. Or was it? The private school's farm setting allowed its 200 pupils to feed the animals, plant bulbs and make applesauce from the fruit of the farm's orchard. Sounds like a commune to us.
