Jim Finks

Jim Finks joined the Bears in 1974, as general manager and executive vice-president. By 1977, the Bears reached the playoffs for the first time since 1963. They were a playoff team again in 1979 with a 10¿6 record, best-ever for the Finks-led Bears. He resigned in 1982 when George Halas did not consult him in the hiring of Mike Ditka as head coach. He was selected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995.
