Ex-Bull Eddy Curry's ex-wife not guilty of beating son

Tribune reporter

The ex-wife of former Chicago Bull Eddy Curry was acquitted today in Will County of beating their son.

Korie Kellogg, 30, of Mokena, was charged with aggravated battery to a child, accused of hitting her son with a belt last April after learning he'd bullied another child at school.

After Will County Judge Daniel Rozak granted a defense motion for a directed verdict, he warned her to be "extra special sure" she didn't end up before him again on new charges.

Kellogg smiled broadly and hugged her son after Rozak's ruling.
