Joan Baez

Albert Baez was a brilliant scientist who helped develop the X-ray reflecting microscope as a graduate student at Stanford University in 1948. As the Cold War gripped the nation, he eschewed research for military purposes because of his Quaker beliefs and concentrated on education. Despite his accomplishments, he may still be better known as the father of folk singer Joan Baez.
