Joan Baez

Albert Baez was a brilliant scientist who helped develop the X-ray reflecting microscope as a graduate student at Stanford University in 1948. As the Cold War gripped the nation, he eschewed research for military purposes because of his Quaker beliefs and concentrated on education.
