High-flying headgear was the rage at Carson Pirie Scott & Co.'s 5th Annual Easter Bonnet Contest, in which youngsters vied to show what they had up top at the State Street store, April 1, 1983. Lara Minetz, 3, of Chicago was the first place winner with a hat she could flip over and transform to an Easter Basket.
