Canadian National Railway employees investigate the derailment of a freight train Friday in Buffalo Grove. Metra's North Central line from Antioch to Chicago was shut down after the crash and will not reopen until Monday. Patrick Waldron, a spokesman for CN, which operates the tracks where the derailment occurred, said heavy equipment was being brought to the scene to remove the 17 derailed train cars. The train cars came off the tracks just south of Aptikisic Road and east of North Weiland Road in Buffalo Grove about 4 a.m., he said.
