Marvin Miller: The leader of the Major League Baseball Players Association did more to shape the current economic model for MLB than anyone. His lasting legacy is that baseball has free agency and arbitration but not a hard salary cap. Miller, who died Nov. 27 at 95, trounced MLBs negotiators when Bowie Kuhn was the commissioner and then passed the torch to Donald Fehr and Michael Weiner.
