In the first inning of the fourth game of the exhibition season, Cubs pitcher Carlos Silva and third baseman Aramis Ramirez scuffled in the dugout over Silvas criticism of the team's shoddy defensive play. Afterwards, manager Mike Quade absolved both, setting the tone for a season of unaccountability. The shoddy defensive play continued as well.
