Outfielder Billy Williams doffed his cap to the Wrigley Field crowd after receiving a trophy marking his 896th consecutive game, a National league record on June 29, 1967. Williams was a six-time all-star, the 1961 National League Rookie of the Year and was only the second Cub to have his number retired. Williams was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1987.
