Patch 22

The pumpkins are clipped from the vine, but visitors to Patch 22 can wander into the field to find a pumpkin instead of sorting through a pile. It's only the second year that farmer Dan Kelly has grown pumpkins at Patch 22. Kelly says the weather wasn't a problem and the crop is strong. Open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekends, no admission fee, no parking fee. Pony rides cost $10 a person; other activities such as the hayride, farm animal visit and haunted hayloft cost $1 to $2 a person. Illinois Highway 41 and Kelly Road, Wadsworth; 847-336-0120 or patch22.biz
