Dave's Pumpkins

This self-service patch keeps it simple: Each pumpkin is $5. Even giant pumpkins weighing more than 20 pounds are $5 each. The crop this year is strong, and owner Dave Reid describes it as one of the highest quality crops he has ever grown. The pumpkins are big and healthy, which he attributes to the moderately dry and cool summer.

Open from 7 a.m. to dusk daily until Oct. 31; no admission fee, no parking fee. Hayrides are offered Sunday afternoons for $3 a person. Corn shocks, gourds, straw and squash also are for sale.
