Colchagua Valley, Chile

It's all about the Carmenère in this verdant Chilean valley; the grape was thought extinct, but was rediscovered here in 1994. Wine tourism is naturally a big draw, but don't call Colchagua Valley the new Napa --wine has been cultivated here a couple of centuries before Napa even saw its first grape.<br>
